His broken leg did not seem to impede him at all, though he stumbled a few times in the carnage. He was a blur in the chaos, blasting and spinning and punching and kicking with deadly force. With a roar of determination, Savage dropped from the roof hatch, and proceeded to obliterate his way through the troopers. Random and Fliptastic ducked behind a wall, gunshots whizzing past their faces. Random followed, and blasted several approaching troopers with his pistol. "We must move quickly!" Fliptastic ordered, dropping into the hatch, and began firing. "S#! Them gangstas' got a movement detector!" Savage yelled. With a metallic "CLANK", the circular roof hatch Random had created with the laser dropped onto the floor beneath them. In front of him, he could barely see Fliptastic hacking the Little Bird on the top of the Bank for a quick getaway. Random grabbed their new toy, a laser cutter, and quickly pierced a hole through the roof of the Bank with his high-intensity laser beam. They unbuckled and put the parachutes away, then pulled out their weapons. His fears were baseless thoughts after all. "See? I reassured you I would not drop you off in mid-air," Fliptastic said, smiling. They seemed so tiny, like plastic toys.Īnd then, as Random looked around, stunned by the sights around him, they landed on the Bank roof. Looking down, Random saw the cars of the red raven gang parked below them, all painted in shades of red and black. Random looked behind as well as he could, and saw Savage trailing behind them. They glided and glided, passing one building and then the next. The soft breeze of autumn blew against his face. Random yelped and clenched his fists in anticipation, praying that he wouldn't be dropped from mid-air. Remember that it's just a thought.Īnd then, without warning, Fliptastic jumped off the edge, gliding along towards the Bank roof with the parachute. His breathing increased, and he started to feel his own heart in his throat.Ĭalm down, he told himself. He couldn't hear what Fliptastic said next, which made him panic even more. Random suddenly panicked a little at his own words, remembering his fear. Savage grabbed the other parachute and did the same as Fliptastic (minus the grabbing another person part). Random walked over, and Fliptastic wrapped his arms around Random's torso, buckling the parachute's other belt onto Random's waist as well. Fly yourself, Savage," Fliptastic commanded, hoisting himself to the parachute and buckling the belt. "I will take Random, since we did not train him to fly parachutes. Then he fumbled for another, and pulled that out too. "Yep," Random and Savage answered at the same time.įliptastic grabbed a compressed parachute from his backpack, and opened it up. "Do you recall our plan?" Fliptastic asked, reaching for his backpack. "Hey, I got 'em tuff arms," Savage replied casually. "How'd you make it up here with a broken leg?" Random asked, raising his voice over the howling winds at the top. Finally, he saw the remains of the small town near the Prison, also partially abandoned like the City.įinally, Random got to the top, with Fliptastic pulling him up. He heard from rumours, long ago, that it was destroyed by the gangsters, who did not wish to see the symbol of justice still standing in their new empire. He saw the former Prison complex, now reduced to its foundations. He looked over to the abandoned Military Base, with all of its rotting and rusting military vehicles and barracks. He wished he actually could.but he was born 10 years after Jailbreak City had been taken over by the lawless ones. He could almost see Jailbreak City's former glory from there. All around Random, there stood numerous abandoned skyscrapers, once great, glass-clad monoliths, worn with time. The view was eerie, but somehow breathtaking. They'd searched their former base, but found nothing. Random was climbing up the side of the ruins of the tallest tower in the city, the Penthouse Apartment.
